Happy Friday!
Here is a look at one of the tasks we did this week in Literacy: Character Description Writing
Learning Intentions:
- Develop creative expression through the use of organizational processes, methods, and tools.
- Create drafts of writing that maintain audience interest by focusing the number of ideas in sentences and limiting repetitions.
- Edit writing for spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Revise texts to enhance clarity or fluency.
- Apply keyboarding skills to enhance written works.
We have been practicing describing characters using evidence to prove a character's qualities. This week, students were asked to create their own character. We began by using a character sketch graphic organizer to brainstorm different ideas about a character (name, age, family, hobbies, etc.). Students were then asked to write a short paragraph describing their character, edit their rough copy and type their paragraph. Students were asked to include evidence explaining how their character shows their various personality traits. Check out some of our unique characters below:
Reminders:
- - Picture orders are due this Monday, October 28th.
- - A fun game is posted on our Google Classroom under Social Studies for the Grade 4's to practice identifying provinces and capitals. Enjoy!
Have a wonderful weekend!
- Ms. Mostaghel 😁
